The Activity log

Activity is the book's audit log, and a tab of the Inbox: every desk check, order, rule decision, setting change, problem and sign-in, newest first, one trading day at a time in Chicago time. Nothing here is ever edited after the fact and nothing is left out. Each row is one sentence built from the stored facts ("Posture changed from Moderate to Speculative", "Bought 19.03 AAPL at $332.50, $6,326 in all", "The 12:00 intraday check was missed"), with a quieter clause after it that adds the one thing worth knowing next, and a small pill directly after the words saying what kind of row it is. On a phone the time and the pill share the first line and the whole sentence sits under them; nothing is ever cut short. Someone viewing your book read only sees the same log. One day at a time

The arrows beside the date step to the day before and the day after; the date field jumps to any day; Latest comes back to the newest day that has rows (on a Saturday that is Friday, named by its date, never called "today"). Older days load as you step back; while they load the page says so, and if a day is far back it offers to keep loading. There is no endless list: a long day shows its first 18 rows (15 on a phone) and one "Show more"; a link to a row further down shows the day down to that row. Download the log still saves the whole archive, not just the day on screen.

One row per order, one row per failure

An order's life is one row, not four or five. The row says where the order is now ("Sold 1 NVDA at $128.57", "A $300 buy of AMD at $150.90 is waiting for you"); opening it lists every step in order with its time: proposed, checked by the risk rules, decided, sent to the broker, filled, and the protective stop set behind it. A check that failed and the alert about that failure are one row too. Things written together read as one line: switching posture shows "Posture changed from Moderate to Speculative" with "6 limits raised" after it, and opening it lists the six limits by name with their before and after values. The folded rows are still in the log and still in the download, each as its own line.

The filters

The five chips above the list are named after the question you are asking, each with the number of rows it would show on this day (the numbers follow the symbol filter too, and add up to the day's rows). With no chip on, the list shows everything; press the chip that is on, or Show everything, to go back to it. Below 1280 px the same choice is one menu beside the date field.

• Trades: orders, from proposal to fill, and protective stops. The pill says where each one is: Proposed, Checked, Waiting for you, Expired, Decided, Sent, Filled, Not sent, Turned down, Automatic sell. An order whose window closed unanswered reads "expired unanswered at 14:45 CT", never "is waiting".
• Desk checks: the desk's checks that ran (morning plan, intraday check, end-of-day check, daily review, research brief, the second opinion, an extra check set off by a price alert, a Consult answer, a Quant run: the same names the Desk screen uses) and what came of each ("It proposed 3 trades."), the market or book news the desk was woken for, and a setting the desk or the platform moved by itself ("Automatic change"). A headline is quoted exactly as the source wrote it. Three or more back-to-back checks of the same kind that proposed nothing are one row ("Intraday check finished, 9 times between 11:00 and 14:48 CT") that lists each one when opened. What a check cost in model time is in its detail; the header adds the day up ("22 rows, AI cost $4.33 that day").
• Your changes: what you did yourself: a posture switch, a limit raised or tightened, a guidance note, a watchlist edit, an accepted Quant suggestion, trading paused or resumed.
• Problems: what needs a look: an approval that expired, a protective exit that did not fill, a scheduled check that did not run or failed (a failed check is counted here only), a halt a rule set, a guidance step that could not apply.
• Sign-ins: you signing in, or a failed attempt.

System events is a switch, off at rest: housekeeping the platform records for completeness (a session note shortened to fit, end-of-day books written, the daily summary emailed). They are counted beside the switch and are always in the download.

Tickers in a row are drawn as the symbol tag everywhere; open the row for the symbol's own chip (price, ask, filter). Choosing Filter activity on any symbol's chip narrows the day to rows that mention that symbol.

Opening a row

Choose a row (or press Enter on it). On a wide screen its detail opens in the panel beside the list (at rest the panel says so in one line and nothing is selected); on a narrower one it opens in place under the row. Choosing the open row again closes it. The detail repeats the sentence as its title, then an order's steps, the plain facts (who did it, whether your code was asked, the size, the rule that turned an order down, what happens next), and links to the desk's reasoning or the proposal where there is one. "Place it myself" appears on an order the rules refused that you may place as your own. At the end sits Technical details, closed until you open it: the event code, storage keys, ids, the UTC instant, the sentence exactly as it was recorded and raw before and after values, in monospace, each id with a Copy button. That is the only place codes and ids appear on this screen; quote them when you report a problem.

Links that land on a row

A fill marker on the Overview chart, a Decided row's "See order", an alert row, or a "see the change" link after a save open Activity on the right day with that row selected, scrolled into view and ringed for a moment (with reduced motion the scroll is instant and the ring stays until you touch the page). If the row is older than what has loaded, the screen says so and offers to keep looking in older rows; if the row is not in this log at all, it says that too.

Download

Download the log saves the whole log as a spreadsheet, newest first (up to 5,000 rows), one line per stored row. The first columns are the ones every earlier download had, in the same order: the UTC time, the kind, the row's id, the sentence, its clause (headed "summary"), who, symbol, severity and the technical data. The badge and the event code are added at the end, so a sheet you built on an older download keeps working. Folded rows are separate lines in the file.
