Alerts name the wide disaster stop when it sells a position

Alerts now say when the wide disaster stop sold a position, not the stop you set.

What changed for people using Bellwether

  • The alert names the stop that sold. On a book whose stops are checked at the closing price, an alert about a sale during the day now says the position fell to its wide disaster stop and gives that price. Its details add your own stop, the price Holdings shows, and that it is checked at the close.
  • Activity and the order say the same. The row for that sale reads "because its wide disaster stop was hit", and the order's reason line gives both prices. A sale at your own stop reads as it did before.
  • Stored alerts read the new way. An alert of this kind stored before this release is shown in the new words when you open Overview or Activity.
  • A stop that could not be checked reads as sentences. When a day's closing price is missing, the alert says which day is missing and that the stop resting during the day is still watched.

What you may notice

  • On a book whose stops rest during the day, nothing reads differently.
  • An entry that fills below its own stop is still sold at once and still reads "fell to its stop".
  • Nothing in this release changes what the desk buys or sells, or any stop's price.

Switched on

  • Nothing is switched on or off by this release.

Known gaps and what’s next

  • An approval card for a protective sale still says the position's stop was hit, also when the disaster stop sold it. Protective sales rarely wait for approval. A fix comes next.
  • If a protective sale fails and the stop is moved before it is tried again, the first order's reason line can describe the moved stop. The alert keeps the prices of the moment.
